The following self-paced method for learning the Rules of Golf is a compilation of ideas from many Rules experts and instructors. It is divided into four topics: Introduction, Definitions, Rules of Golf, and Decisions on the Rules of Golf. A recommended process for learning each topic is provided along with self-tests to check your learning. In general, you should not skip ahead. Each topic builds on the previous topic.
For most golfers, the Introduction, Definitions, and Rules of Golf topics are all that are needed. If you are called upon to be a Rules Official or wish to become one, you should also study Decisions on the Rules of Golf.
